1 No person shall operate a food establishment that handles, prepares or serves non-prepackaged potentially hazardous food who does not have present and in the employ of the food establishment at all hours of operation at least one (1) person with a valid Food Establishment Personnel Food Safety Certificate issued by the Department.
Corrective Action: Philadelphia Food Safety Certificate Application was emailed to the person in charge.
1 The food facility operator shall be the Person in Charge or shall designate a Person in Charge and shall ensure that a Person in Charge is present at the food facility during all hours of operation.
** There was no person present at the time of the inspection with a food protection certification. Advised to obtain a food protection certificate.

** Advised to make the handwash sink accessible.

** Advised to remove the blender from the sink.
8 Paper towels not present at the handwash sink in the restroom in the basement.
** Advised to supply paper towels at this sink.
11 Expired baby food observed on a retail shelf.
** PIC segregated the expired baby food containers.
14 Observed non food products (domestic dish drying rack and household dishware) stored in the food prep sink in the prep area.
** Advised to remove everything from the food prep sink and to wash, rinse and sanitize the basin of the sink.
26 Employee personal items and foods observed stored in POS, retail, and prep areas, and were not stored to prevent the contamination of food, equipment or utensils.
-Open and partially used lotion, Pepto Bismal, childrens cough syrup in the POS area.
-Employee foods (open bag of ice, frozen packages of meats) stored on the same shelf as retail foods.
-Employee sauces and condiments stored with coffee amenities.
-Excessive personal storage in the retail areas for products not intended for sale.
-Domestic and household dishware and equipment observed present in the prep and retail areas.
** Advised to remove all items not necessary for functionality of the facility. Informed that the employees may have necessary personal items but they must be segregated from the food and products being sold.
35 Observed repackaged candies stored in plastic containers without matching labels and nutritional ingredients.
36 Observed a cat, cat food, and kitty litter in the basement.
** Advised to remove the cat and cat amenities from the facility.
45 Domestic microwave observed in use in the retail area.

-Observed cardboard lined shelves in the retail refrigerator.
49 Observed the food prep sink installed with a direct drain connection.
** Advised to install an indirect drainage connection at the food prep sink.
51 No lid on trash can receptacle observed in the basement restroom area.
53 Handwash sink in the bathroom in the basement observed not sealed to the wall.
53 -Containers of cat food and kitty litter observed stored on the floor in the basement.
-Dust, debris, spider webs, and clutter observed in the basement.
-Slight debris observed along the perimeter of the retail and prep areas.
-Not in use food equipment observed in the prep area.
53 Brooms and dustpans observed stored on the floor instead of elevated to promote floor cleaning.
53 Observed mops stored on the floor instead of elevated to promote air drying.
54 Observed the light bulb in the hood area not shielded from breakage.

** Advised to label the refrigeration units with "employees only" or "for retail purposes" to distinguish foods for personal use and foods for sale.
