Inspection Date: 03/31/2025
1 No person shall operate a food establishment that handles, prepares or serves non-prepackaged potentially hazardous food who does not have present and in the employ of the food establishment at all hours of operation at least one (1) person with a valid Food Establishment Personnel Food Safety Certificate issued by the Department.
There was no one present with a valid Health Department issued Food Manager Food Safety Certificate. The person in charge does have a class certificate from an approved provider.
An application for the Department issued Food Manager certificate will be provided with this report.
8 The paper towel dispenser at the food prep area handsink was empty.
The person in charge placed paper towels in the dispenser during the inspection.
14 Not washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes properly.
The 3 bay sink was set up to wash only at the beginning of the inspection. The food safety certified person set up the rinse and sanitize basins when the inspector requested her to do so.
All dishes, equipment, and utensils should be washed, rinsed, and sanitized before further use.
42 Dishes observed stored stacked and facing up on the drain rack over the 3 basin sink.
43 Stirrers in the customer self service area are not prewrapped to prevent potential contamination when retrieved by customers.
45 Raw wooden pallets which are not smooth and easily cleanable, being used to support equipment in the food prep area.
45 Equipment does not meet minimum design requirements.
-The ice machine lid is not properly attached in the food prep area.
46 Food facility lacks quatenary sanitizer test strips to monitor sanitizer concentration.
49 There is no indirectly drained stand alone food prep sink with an air gap and catch basin for the washing of apples. Therefore, a sign telling guests to wash apples before consumption is required.
No sign observed alerting guest to the need to wash fruit before consumption. For example, apples and pears.
53 Observations:
-Grey residue on the floor perimeter below the table in the food prep area.
53 -The mop is stored in the bucket rather than on a utility rack.
-The broom and dust pan are stored on the floor rather than hanging on a utility rack.

All food prep and serving must cease until an employee with a valid food manager certificate is present. An opening compliance check is required before food prep and serve can be resumed.
8 No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the toilet rooms to remind food employees to wash their hands.
Signs were placed in the two toilet rooms during the inspection.
14 Tan residue observed on the interior of the ice machine bin around the water storage area and on wall surfaces.
An employee turned off, emptied, and began washing, rinsing, sanitizing, and air drying the ice machine before further use.
21 Boiled eggs, opened commercially processed ready to eat food, located in the reach in refrigerator, and held more than 48 hours, was not marked with the date it was opened. Observed a container of boiled eggs removed from the original box.
26 Chemicals (drain cleaner and cleaning solution) were stored above or on the same shelf with food (bottled water and food items), equipment, and/or single service articles in the food prep and customer self service areas.
The observed bottles were moved.
43 Stirrers in the customer self service area are not prewrapped to prevent potential contamination when retrieved by customers.
45 Raw wooden pallets which are not smooth and easily cleanable, being used to support equipment in the food prep area.
45 Equipment does not meet minimum design requirements.
-The Rinse basin of the 3 bay sink is not holding water properly. Observed water draining when stoppered.
-The ice machine lid is not properly attached in the food prep area.
-Two non-commercial microwaves observed. One in the food prep area and one in the customer self service area.
-A non-commercial toaster in the customer self service area.
46 Food facility lacks quatenary sanitizer test strips to monitor sanitizer concentration.
47 Brown residue observed in floor drains in the food prep area.
49 There is no indirectly drained stand alone food prep sink with an air gap and catch basin for the washing of apples. Therefore, a sign telling guests to wash apples before consumption is required.
52 Dumpster observed open rather than tightly closed when not in use.
53 Observations:
-An opening in the wall and damaged loose coving in the food prep area.
-An small opening in the wall over the 3 basin sink.

-Residue and debris on floor perimeters in the food prep area. For example, under the ice machine and around the wooden pallet.
54 One of the refrigerators is lacking a light in the food prep area.

The new establishment is called, Philadelphia Suites an Extended Stay Hotel. The owner is WG Hotel LLC. This information has been entered into DHD. A submission of the change of owner application is required. Inspector provided the application with this report. This must be done within thirty days.
